MLK Students of the Month Assembly and Drama Club Performance

The atmosphere at the MLK Elementary School October Student of the Month assembly was electric, thanks to a fantastic performance by the MLK Drama Club! The Drama Club presented a short yet powerful skit focused entirely on the critical theme of integrity, a perfect tie-in for recognizing our outstanding students.

The play, titled "The Case of the Missing Cupcake," was a humorous and highly relatable look at the everyday choices students face. It centered on the idea of doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. The students skillfully used drama and comedy to bring this important lesson to life, engaging their peers with a fun and topical story.

A huge round of applause is due to our talented cast: Genesis, Omar, Angelie, and Nur Hafiza. In just under two weeks, they managed to learn their lines, rehearse their blocking, and deliver a performance that was not only incredibly well received but also genuinely impactful. Their dedication and hard work truly paid off, demonstrating the power of a short, well-executed play to entertain and educate.

They did a fantastic job, making the lesson on integrity memorable for everyone in attendance!

Staff and teachers selected students for the honor of student of the month who best demonstrate the character trait of integrity. Thank you to the families who were able to join us for the ceremony. Each SOTM student was recognized with a book and a certificate. We're so proud of our MLK Kids!
