Athletics: Free Summer Athletic Camps/Clinics for UCSD Students!

The Utica City School District is excited to announce a diverse selection of free summer sports camps for students in grades 5 through 12, made possible by the district’s Athletics Fund held by the Community Foundation.

Starting in July 2024, UCSD is proud to provide a summer packed with activities aimed at extending engagement through athletics and reaching students beyond the conventional school year and the standard educational curriculum.

With camps running throughout July and August from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, students will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of sports, including Girls’ Soccer, Football, Boys’ and Girls’ Swimming, Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball, Boys’ Volleyball, Softball, Baseball, Boys’ Lacrosse, Boys’ and Girls’ Track and Boys’ and Girls’ Golf

These camps are not only a platform for engaging in healthy physical activities and routines but also a unique opportunity to foster teamwork, camaraderie, and personal development. Participants can learn new sports, enhance their skills, and, most importantly, have fun in a supportive environment. Our aim is to cultivate a joyful atmosphere that can lead to lifelong friendships and memories, all while building physical and social skills.

Recognizing that athletic and arts programs often receive limited time during the regular school year, these summer camps are a way for the Utica City School District to emphasize the importance of a well-rounded education. Thanks to our Athletics Fund managed by the Community Foundation, these camps are available at no cost to our UCSD families, representing a significant investment in our community and demonstrating our commitment to fostering talents and skills that students may not have the opportunity to explore during the regular school year.

"By extending learning beyond the classroom and into the summer months, the Utica City School District continues to build stronger, healthier, and more connected communities. We look forward to seeing our students shine this summer and encourage all eligible to participate in these exciting opportunities," said Dr. Kathleen Davis, Interim Superintendent.

Registration for the summer sports camps will open on Thursday, June 7th, 2024. Families are encouraged to register their children early as spots are expected to fill up quickly.
