CTE Students are seeing a trip to the grocery store through a different lens after going to Price Chopper for something more than bread and milk. The group gained hands-on exposure to the day-to-day operations of each department, including grocery, produce, bakery and customer service. The visit focused on building practical workplace skills and increasing awareness of inclusive employment opportunities within a retail setting. Store staff demonstrated essential job tasks such as properly stacking shelves, organizing merchandise and bagging groceries, while explaining expectations around teamwork, communication and customer interaction. This experience provided students with valuable insight into real-world job responsibilities and helped build confidence, independence and readiness for future employment.
